Four laning of Chhapra-Hazipur section of NH-19

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved the implementation of the project of two laning with paved shoulders/four laning of 65 Km long Chhapra-Hazipur section of NH-19 in the State of Bihar under NHDP Phase III on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis in BOT (Annuity) mode.

The total project cost is estimated at Rs.575 crore under the DBFOT pattern. The concession period is for 15 years including a construction period of 30 months.

The project road runs between Chhapra and Hazipur, which will facilitate in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic plying between Chhapra and Vaishali district in the State of Bihar. The project is one of the stretches approved by the Government under the NHDP Phase III.
